Rules and Regulations for International Students’ Dorms

In order to create a comfortable and secure environment, Reception Centre for Foreigners issuesthe following rules and regulations which we hope that all internationalstudents as well as other foreign guestscould abide by.

 

1.       Students living in the dorms should notengage themselves in activities that could harm the security of the People’sRepublic ofChina.

2.       Students should first register at the generalreception desk before entering the room. Everyone is required to pay 300 Yuan forthe deposit of room card (key). This money will be refunded when students checkout and return the room card. Lodging fee is to be paid monthly during thefirst five days of each month. Unless peculiar circumstance, students who failto pay the rent within the indicated period, will be fined 5% of the rent as delaypayment.

3.       TheSchoolofInternational Educationand the Guest House for Foreigners are responsible for the distribution ofrooms for international students. Students are not allowed to exchange roomsamong themselves or lend their rooms to other person(s). If students want to changerooms, it is necessary to go through room change procedures.

4.       Big power appliances such as electric rice cooker,oven and others for cooking purpose are strictly prohibited in guest rooms. Ifstudents are discovered using the appliances, their appliances will be confiscated.

5.       During schooldays (from Monday to Friday) internationalstudents are required to return to their rooms before 23 o’clock; on theweekends, they need to return before 24 o’clock (midnight).

6.       Students should keep the dorms quiet.Playing games in corridors as well as playing music, TV loudly and holding bigparties in rooms are not allowed. They are also not allowed to drinkexcessively.

7.       Visitors are not allowed to casually enterthe dorms. It is necessary to register first upon arrival. Visitors arerequired to leave dorms before 23 o’clock. Students are not allowed to letvisitors or other persons stay overnight in their rooms.

8.       It is strictly forbidden to bring flammableand explosive materials and narcotics to the rooms. Smoking while lying on bed isstrictly prohibited. If a room is on fire as a result of smoking or by othermeans, students causing this will take all legal responsibilities according tothe relevant laws of the People’s Republic ofChina.

9.       Whenever you go out of your rooms, switchoff all power sources of electric appliances and close windows of your rooms.Also, properly check all things that could cause fire hazard in order to avoidpossible damages.

10.    Take good care of your expensive stuffs. Whengoing out, don’t forget to take your room card. Also, don’t give the room cardto other person or people. Students are not allowed to dispose room cards or secretlyreplace door locks. If a room card is lost, it is necessary to promptly reportto the reception desk. Reception desk is responsible for the disposition of thecard. Payment for the replacement of the disposed card will be covered by the student.If you forget your room card in your room,  you csn ask the receptionist for help.Damaging room’s door is strictly forbidden.

11.    When students move to other rooms or leavethe university, the rooms need to be checked. Departure is allowed only after theavailability of the stuffs that are originally received by the students andenlisted in the room’s stuffs inventory are checked.

12.    If you don’t understand this rule andregulation, contact the attendants or the reception desk for help.
